And they are commonly served with noodles, breakfast, or steamed rice, similar to Chinese <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chinasichuanfood.com\/chinese-tea-eggs-marbled-eggs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tea eggs or marbled eggs.&nbsp;<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1707\" height=\"2560\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chinasichuanfood.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/soy-sauce-eggs-11-scaled.webp\" alt=\"Chinese soy sauce eggs \" class=\"wp-image-35372\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.chinasichuanfood.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/soy-sauce-eggs-11-scaled.webp 1707w, https:\/\/www.chinasichuanfood.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/soy-sauce-eggs-11-768x1152.webp 768w, https:\/\/www.chinasichuanfood.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/soy-sauce-eggs-11-1024x1536.webp 1024w, https:\/\/www.chinasichuanfood.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/soy-sauce-eggs-11-1365x2048.webp 1365w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1707px) 100vw, 1707px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>But the two versions differ: tea eggs are soaked with the shells, while soy sauce eggs are boiled first and then soaked in a simplified master stock. Traditionally, Chinese soy sauce eggs are soaked in a soy sauce-based stock. However, we have a new trend recently- a fresh and spicy soy sauce stock. The marinating sauce is called \u201c\u5364\u6c34\u201d. Expect everyday items such as eggs, chicken feet, chicken wings, duck feet, lotus roots, and pork large intestine to be extremely popular in China. It is a Chinese custom to keep the marinating sauce; the older it is, the better it tastes. But now, for healthy consideration, we use a one-time<span class=\"s1\"> soy sauce marinating sauce.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1333\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chinasichuanfood.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/soy-sauce-eggs-2-1.webp\" alt=\"soy sauce eggs \" class=\"wp-image-35384\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.chinasichuanfood.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/soy-sauce-eggs-2-1.webp 2000w, https:\/\/www.chinasichuanfood.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/soy-sauce-eggs-2-1-768x512.webp 768w, https:\/\/www.chinasichuanfood.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/soy-sauce-eggs-2-1-1536x1024.webp 1536w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 2000px) 100vw, 2000px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Traditional Soy Sauce Stock with Five Spice Flavor <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Add soy sauce, dark soy sauce, water, sugar, salt, vinegar, and Chinese five-spice powder to a small pot and simmer for 3-5 minutes. Add a small pinch of salt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lower the eggs into boiling water carefully using a ladle, then <strong>immediately reduce the heat<\/strong>.  Simmer for 6 minutes (for a softer texture) or 7 minutes (for a more complex texture). Stir the eggs in the first two minutes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1333\" cold water and gently peel the shells once they have cooled. <em>(If you feel it is pretty hard to handle, place the eggs under small running water and peel the shells.)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure the marinating sauce, soaking for overnight (12-20 hours) until well salted.<strong style=\"font-style: italic;\"> Transfer them out when the eggs are well salted.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure
