Cathy,
You will need to add more juice. One possible reason is the water content in the juice is not high enough. So adding a little bit water or more juice can change your position.

It would not go through the dropper at all and I wound up having to spoon it out which resulted in big globs. It also did not taste like the juice I used but kind of chemically. Should I use either more juice or cut back on the sodium alginate?

Annie,
It can make around 10 cups of milk tea.

Try leaving them in the calcium lactate for less time? (Also did you mix cold water with the calcium lactate?)

Weird, when I tried it it did not work but then I realized I had a different type of calcium lactate and that worked… I think you might have not used pure calcium lactate or pure sodium alginate.

Yes, but the ratio of calcium chloride to water must be increased to 30 to 1

Hi DenverNerd, I also tried and the juice/sodium mix was way too thick. WE have to cut down a lot, I kept adding plain juice to the thick mix until we got a somehow more liquidy mix, and used that. It worked for the watermelon, like 2 more cups of Juice to the original 200ml. We tried using Mango Goya juice, that always got too thick, I don’t think it is a good juice to use, I used almost the entire box of juice to half of the original mix and it was still thick,it just kept emulsifying. The girls enjoyed very big bobas with that one.
